We All Know AI is Here, But What Does AI Actually Know About Your Business?
Since the introduction of AI there has been, and still is, a lot of unknown. Not just online, but big questions about where will AI lead us? Into a Terminator scenario?? Controversy around cost of power and water supplies and so much more. Not things we will go into in this blog, but wanting to acknowledge the bigness, the change that we are all in.
What we do know however is that according to the 2026 AI Index Report "Generative AI hit nearly 53% population-level adoption within three years". Over 50% of the population is using AI in some form or another. Its here and available to us all.
In terms of the digital world, business growth and our businesses being searchable online there are a lot of questions. How is online search changing? Are there new rules for how to go about having my business getting more leads and sales? How does AI impact and apply to my business? Is it different for each AI agent? Chat GPT vs Grok…?
These will be topics on blogs to come, so be sure to subscribe to our mail list for practical tips on online visibility here!
So as we know AI is slowly (or quickly!!) soaking into many of our every day lives. Possibly inevitably so because it has been shown to create more time for us to do 'other things', an easy way to get information, answers really fast.
Personally unsure how I feel about this thought process, does everything has to be about making more time for more things? Of course its simple when the trade off is more time to do the things we love, I am so here for that. But I wonder, are the days of some good old satisfaction around compiling and meticulously crafting a report gone? Or the simplicity in writing your own email response? When its so easy now to just click a button and just like that. Done….
The more that I come to understand how AI works, the less of a mystery it is becoming. It fascinating the way that the things that we do not understand or cannot make sense of that hold the most uncertainty over us. Such a human response, to be cautious and wary of what we do not understand. Such a time of transition and change we are in as humans at the moment, as I perceive it. Always available, even from the forests and the rivers if we choose to take our phones. Fast paced worlds and fast paced change. I feel it, and maybe I can speak for a lot of you in that you may feel that too. Everything going so quickly, how do I keep up? Or how do I keep up in a way that feels good? Do you feel like this sometimes?
What I have noticed in getting to know AI as it evolves, is that its like going back to my university days of writing essays and backing up everything I am writing with proper citation. It is demanding evidence to back up what you are saying. To not only become the answer but to determine why and where you got your information from, prove your word. This evidence could be through your own research, findings and experience in the day to day of running your business. To become cited by AI you need to become a trusted answer by, being trustworthy. So in a lot of ways it is quite simple. Something that I love about this is that it demands that we are thorough and we back ourselves up, just like how its always been.
There is a growing reliance on AI that we are wanting to step away from (we are very conscious of this, it can be so tempting to quickly search and get an answer, correct or incorrect) whilst also using it the way that we perceive it to be best used; as a content and restructuring tool, not a fast answer engine.
Even the AI engines that have been shown to be the most accurate still 'hallucinate', getting things wrong a meaningful amount of the time. Hallucinating essentially means how often AI is getting it wrong. Have you noticed that yourself when searching? Writing long form questions, especially when it comes to understand techy processes online, and it will tell you, click the red link and you have just screenshotted it and the link is very clearly green. That is an obvious one, but often it can be extremely important and incorrect information that it is sending you down the wrong rabbit hole… why in my opinion it is so important to treat it as the tool that it is, NOT this all knowing sentient being that it can be made out to be.
Check check and double check!
Is your website invisible without you knowing?
A common theme we are seeing at the moment is no-indexing. Some of the clients we have worked with, have created these beautiful websites themselves, yet the site is unknowingly no-indexed. This means that unless you type in the full precise website www… into the search bar, their business will not come up. Essentially your website could be invisible to Google and you wouldn't even know it.
A quick way to check this your self is to open an incognito tab, and search just the name of your business into Google, if you don't come up chances are your site is no-indexed.
Where AI Actually Looks
In this world of AI, do you know what AI actually knows about your business? The latest research is now showing that when someone searches your business asking for the best person in your area at what you do, AI isn't searching your website, its first searching reviews, mentions and directories of what people are saying about you from the whole web. To be clear, this applies when someone has used words like 'best' or 'recommended' in their search. This is huge. A massive perspective shift from how do we optimise our website? To; how do we optimise our Digital presence across the web?
When you are building your business these are maybe not trains of thought you may be thinking of, or optimising for. And the two above examples are just some of the things we come across, and this is where Luminera comes in to support.
Do you want to find out what AI is saying about your business right now? Click below and answer three questions to find out.
How is Luminera different
This is why Luminera is different. We take the mystery out of it all. By focusing on:

Relationship. We are in relationship with you, this is a two sided investment! We will be your biggest cheerleaders and be in the fun together, of how can we get you more found online?? So you can focus on your business while we focus on organic online presence growth for your company over time. We get very excited about this and communication around your businesses online presence.
Understanding how AI works. Its changing, so we can make it simple for you. We share what we know with you when there is something you need to do. And we handle the tech side of things in the background. Updating code, website fixes etc. Check out our services page for more on what we take off your hands.
Keeping the foundations. A common misconception is that AI means out with SEO. No, this is still important. Now though instead of "keyword stuffing" we are writing in a way that these key words are integrated and you have an answer in your website for every single way that the customers who are looking for you might type their question into search. Finding this out is where our AI tracking software comes in and ongoing research of what people are actually typing in when they search for a business like yours online.
Wondering about how we can support you and your business to get found online? Lets keep up with the changes together. We look forward to connecting with you.

PS. the photo is of me in the Far North of New Zealand, maybe not the image you would expect for a blog post about AI search. But to keep it authentic and real as to who we are, this is me anchoring in our vision for luminera, outside on the earth. Where we always remember that we come from and give our thanks to.
And thank-you to Hannah at www.hearthofher.com for capturing us in this process
